Powerful Leadership: What to Do with Your “Dash”

We have our born day and we have our day that we leave this earth. The question is, what are you doing with that ‘dash’ in between?

Many times, we take life for granted. Tomorrow is not really promised, but it is by God’s grace that we wake up every day and are ready to go.

For me, I have always been, and even more so now, determined to make a difference in this world, to make a difference in someone’s life, and serve at a higher level. Because at the end of the day it’s not about what you have or what you’ve accomplished, it’s about who you’ve lifted up, and who you’ve made better. That is what leadership is.

So then, the next question becomes, what type of leader are you?

Being a leader does not mean you have to be perfect. As human as we are, all of us make mistakes. But in your everyday decisions and actions as you live in your ‘dash’, are you supporting and serving people to where you can bring out the best in them and in every situation? Are you serving and doing something on a daily basis to make this place a better place not just for yourself, but for your community?

Always make integrity-based decisions. Do not focus on the mistakes and the negative. We are in a time where we need to see the positive and make a positive influence. It all starts with YOU. It starts with each of us. Make a positive influence in your community to get to the next level in serving.

Make decisions to help others, to show someone the right way to do something or the right road to walk on. Be the change you want to see in the world.

Lisa Nichols said, “energy goes where energy grows”. So, where are you putting your energy? Where is your energy going? What you focus on is where your body is going to go. Are you ready to go to the next level in your leadership, and your personal, spiritual, and emotional development? Because if you get better at what you are doing, you can serve others at a higher level.

Whatever you do, do it to positively impact someone’s life and not just your own. And when you do, you create a pattern of kindness and positivity that can impact the world on a bigger magnitude. We all have a purpose that God created us for. Begin to go deep and look within yourself so that you can get on the path of discovering your purpose.

When you find your purpose, you are able to become a leader that makes integrity-based decisions to serve at a higher level. You become a leader that shows genuine love. A leader that shows no façade or false pretense.

Wherever your focus is as a leader that is where your body will follow. And a great leader who serves at a deeper level and who’s ready to serve others and look beyond themselves focuses on uplifting, peaceful, loving, and beautiful things. You begin to see the beauty in all human beings, even if they are not like you, even if they don’t believe in the same things that you do.

Great leaders do not set out to become leaders, they set out to make a difference. If you are always doing your best and making every effort to serve and serve at a higher level you become a natural leader. Because leaders arise when one life influences and impacts another. And true leaders don’t create followers, what they create are more leaders.

Serve others outside of yourself. Serve above the status quo to a higher and deeper level and make integrity-based decisions. What will you deeply commit to doing?
