International Women’s Month and Our Phenomenal Women

Celebrate a win everyday

What is your win today? Everyday that you wake up, you find a win. Whether it's doing a quick abdomen exercise, waking up on time, checking on others, or gifting yourself. It is important that everyday you find a win and celebrate it!

Remember, everyday you are here on this planet is a win-day. Why? Because we are given a chance to impact other people’s lives and improve our own. So go ahead and be with a community of beautiful, powerful women who support each other and who never leave anyone hanging. And you will always feel empowered to celebrate the small daily wins!

Small needle-like moves are 100% better than no moves at all. You can also celebrate others in their small improvements. You can tell them you support them and that they are not alone in their endeavors. Because here in Festa Della Donna, we support each other to reach our goals and no one gets left behind.

International Women’s Month and Festa Della Donna

March 8 is International Women’s Day but in Italy, it is called Festa Della Donna. We remember women and the impact they made in the world. Because let’s face it guys, the world cannot survive without women.

Since the 1800's women had to fight for their right to vote. Women fought for their right to equal pay - and are still fighting now. But today we are fighting for our girls and their right to equal opportunity and education.

Around the world, International Women’s Month was founded to recognize women’s causes and rights. So that they will not live in a world where things are just forced on them by other people.

But in Italy, International Women’s Day is a whole day of dance, laughter, and celebration. We are celebrating the women who stood before us and fought for the rights that are being enjoyed today.

There, women go out to have dinner and men serve them in restaurants. Anywhere a woman will go, she gets a little yellow flower called Mimosa. This is a sign of pure, authentic, and true friendship - which is what I love in Festa Della Donna!

I believe this culture of Festa Della Donna should be followed in the United States and other parts of the world. Because we women rarely celebrate each other anymore! Truth be told, women even spend much time hating each other rather than uplifting one another.

Small Celebrations = Big Celebrations

Usually, when we think of a celebration we think of something big like a birthday, anniversary, etc. But we should also celebrate ourselves everyday. It should be part of our DNA. Because what gets celebrated, gets repeated.

This month is meant for us to look at what we have come as women. Look at the woman beside you and thank her for her contribution to the world.

My mother is not famous but she has made a great impact on many people. She had a school, she was a seamstress, she baked - and she made sure to make a difference to everyone around her.

We usually idolize the big names we see on TV, like the powerful Michell Obama and the female justices. But I encourage you to look at the real, everyday women in your life: your mother, your daughter, your sister, the entrepreneur, etc. They have made a meaningful impact on you and those around them; they too, need celebration.

Thank these beautiful, everyday women for being who they are. Me, I always think how blessed I am for being with powerful women that God has led me to. In return, I celebrate and lift them up!

Celebrate YOU

I want you to go to the mirror and take a look at yourself. Take a long, deep honest look at where you are in life. Know that whatever stage you are in, you have made an important contribution to someone’s life.

God placed you here on earth to make a difference. These are your missions:

What’s the difference you are making in your life?

What’s the difference you are making in someone’s life?

How are you influencing them to do great, phenomenal things?

You may think that your journey is not as grand as others. Never limit yourself and never devalue your journey. All our journeys - whether positive or negative - have a purpose. And that purpose is for you to influence someone. So never take it for granted.

I dare you to live life fully. I dare you to live a life of celebration and walk in your greatness! Surrender to God and you will do greater things.

To the men and women: let us not make International Women’s Day just one day. Let us celebrate women EVERYDAY and make it a Festa Della Donna experience the whole year!
